Little Treasure Cove is the northernmost part of Crystal Cove State Park between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. Little Treasure Cove is best at low tide when the rocks and tide pools are exposed. At higher tides there will be little sand exposed at the back of the cove, but the state park has closed off the trail to the cove so it’s a moot point anyway. The old trail follows a fence that wraps around the Pelican Hill Golf Club’s South Course. Now the trail ends at an observation platform looking over Treasure Cove and Little Treasure Cove. This elevated spot is a great location for whale watching.
