Whether you’re there to picnic, soak in the ocean, or watch the sunset from the viewing platform, halfway up the concrete steps, Agate keeps it mellow for locals and visitors alike. The keyword here is ease. The beach is far enough south on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) that parking is readily available, even in the summer months. Access is simple too, with a newly unveiled staircase, bike rack, and bench. Once you reach the sand, the trend continues – you can tuck right up to the cliffs with a beach blanket and settle in to watch the sunset. There’s almost always plenty of space.
